The book Invitation to Discrete Mathematics is written for a reader who, every now and then, enjoys mathematics, and our boldest hope is that our text might help some readers to develop some positive feelings towards mathematics that might have remained latent so far.
In Author's opinion, this is a key prerequisite: an aesthetic pleasure from an elegant mathematical idea, sometimes mixed with a triumphant feeling when the idea was difficult to understand or to discover. Not all people seem to have this gift, just as not everyone can enjoy music, but without it, we imagine, studying mathematics could be a most boring thing.
