M-TECH ADMISSION IN BITS

BITS Pilani M.Tech Admissions 2012-2013  Update:20/04/2012 BITS Pilani M.Tech Notification released. BITS (Birla Institute of Technology and Science) Pilani is one the best institute in India which offers B.Tech as well as M.E/M.Tech degrees in various streams. It offers M.E course for which a separate entrance test is to be conducted.


Especially students who have not scored well in GATE as well as students who missed the GATE exam, this BITS Pilani notification is very helpful to you if you want to do M.Tech this academic year. BITS Pilani conducts its own computer based online test for entrance into various PG courses. So there is no need of GATE score at all here in BITS Pilani.
The syllabus for BITS Pilani online test can be downloaded from the official BITS Pilani website BITS Pilani Admission Portal. This syllabus is related to this year 2012 M.Tech Admission.
Generally the test is conducted at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campus. BITS pilani is also having plans to extend the test centers to Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Noida, Nagpur and Delhi based on number of applicants for the test. Final test centers will be notified on official website at appropriate time.
BITS Pilani M.Tech notification is expected to be in this week according to official BITS Pilani website. BITS Pilani has 3 campuses. They are BITS Pilani – Pilani Campus, BITS Pilani – Goa Campus, BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus.
Various courses offered by BITS Pilani are M.E. Biotechnology, M.E. Chemical, M.E. Chemical (with specialization in Petroleum Engineering), M.E. Civil (with specialization in Structural Engineering/Transportation Engineering/Infrastructure Systems),M.E. Communication Engineering,M.E. Computer Science, M.E. Design Engineering, M.E. Embedded Systems, M.E. Electrical (with specialization in Power Electronics & Drives), M.E. Manufacturing Systems Engineering, M.E. Mechanical, M.E. Microelectronics, M.E. Software Systems and M.Pharm etc.
The courses varies depending upon BITS campus.

The application fee for year 2012 is Rs.1600/-.

A Revolution in It Itself, Windows 8

Recently at build conference, Microsoft showcased their new release of Windows, 

 named Windows 8. It was correctly said, “This is Windows re imagined”. 
It is all together a different experience using this new unrealistic operating system. 
It has the same features which windows 7 did, it is fast and fluid, 
effortless, playful, reliable, secure and has many other features which even Windows 7 
didn't had. It is perfect for all the range of hardware from compact to, touch enabled tablets, 
light weight laptops to PCs and for All-in-ones with high definition screens. 
It is smooth, easy to use, and intuitive and gives its user an instant access to people, 
apps, and other stuff in just no time. So you can spend less time on finding 
stuff and more time on doing them.












Windows 8, Only Better
A new User Interface (UI) has been introduced in interface allows the user to experience the 
PC in an effortless and sophisticated manner. Windows 8 has given an additional new look to the start up 
screen. At the start up screen you’ll see all the devices, settings and the features given by Windows 8. 
Just like windows 7, Windows 8 is much more secure and reliable. You add a password at the start up 
screen which can be either in text or using image gestures.

Features of Windows 8:
  1. The new start up screen- Windows 8 combines all of the information required at one place  which is its start up screen. The start up screen contains contacts, the weather updates, calendar, playlists, photo albums, apps and much other information. This makes the interaction with the content much faster and simpler than ever. The tiles on the screen keeps on updating time to time, so you can see what’s going on and keep up with rest of the world. You can access news, status updates, videos in no time and can share and connect to people merely in a couple of clicks. You can launch apps; search Google, check weather forecast, right on the same screen.
  2. Touch – Windows 8 has evolutionary the touch concept in PCs and tablets.Here, the things you can do with the help of mouse and keyboard, you can easily do with the touch. You can use apps, play games, change start up screen, zoom into stuff just with the help of touch very easily. By using touch keypad, you type, navigate, search and interact on a go. According to your requirement you can choose any method you want. In Windows 8, 2 types touch keyboards have been provided. One having the large buttons and other having the keys on either side. One can use this feature according to its need.
  3. Internet Explorer 10 – Windows 8 contains the platform preview 3 of Internet Explorer 10 which very well adapted with the re imagined Metro Style UI design which gives a fluid user experience to your favorite sites. It brings page navigation, tab switching, finding and searching text at your finger tips.
  4. Windows Featured Apps – Right from the beginning, Windows provides you with the rich selection of apps for your everyday needs which includes calendar, alarm, mail, music, photos, messaging, etc. Other apps can be downloaded from Windows App Store which is a library of apps made by the developers all round the globe.
  5. Speed – Apart from the beautiful and fluid look, Windows 8 has focused on improving speed, security and reliability. The PC boots quicker, the apps open up faster and it is more secure from start up till it shuts down. You can notice improved performance and system reliability even on low power backup. 
  6. For Developers - If you are a developer, Windows 8 provides you with the opportunity to develop apps and design tools. The new Windows Dev Center provides you with everything you need to start building your apps including latest tools, compilers, and debuggers, sample apps and documentation. You can submit your apps at The Windows Store, where developers are allowed to distribute their apps.

New Generation Hardware - This one Windows consists of varied collection of ARM based chipsets, x86 devices, sensors and touch in Windows 8 works beautifully from tablets to laptops and even in all-in-one with high definition screens. Windows 8 is compatible with most of the hardware devices and third party software that are being used these days without any inconvenience and delivering full performance of your PC.
